Ioannina, Greece: Antiviosi squat evicted

On Thursday, August 29th, at 7 in the morning, police and fire brigade forces evicted one more squat called “antiviosi” in the city of Ioannina, in the presence of a prosecutor. There was no one inside the squat. Cops, however, were confronted by nearly 60 solidarians on the street; no arrests were reported. As we mentioned several times on this blog, Greek government coalition and especially the conservative party of “New Democracy”  have announced plans for an operation against anti-authoritarian social centers and squats since a year now on pro-election speeches of the party leader Antonis Samaras.
