The majority of schools across the country have closed as teachers begin a five days strike, after the announcement of the government to transfer thousands of teachers in other jobs at the public sector. According the union of the secondary teachers in Greece (OLME), schools have opened with 16.000 teachers less than last year. The decision for the 5 days strike is taken with more than 90% of the members of the unions taking part on it. At the same time many universities in the big cities are also closed 4 days after the start of new academic year. University student unions are moving towards strikes and occupations for the next weeks.
